New Knit Tops for Me

Posted on August 21, 2008 - Filed Under Dress, Knit, Top, Project Progress

I used to update my projects on monthly basis, but maybe I won’t be able to do so now. I can’t knit or crochet as much as I did when I was in Ipoh. My life in Bangkok is busier than I thought. However, I still have more than 5 projects on hand, and I will work on them until the end of the year.

My 2 latest projects are these…

A Knit Dress in creamy Filatura Di Crosa Pasta yarn.

Yarn: Filatura Di Crosa Pasta ribbon yarn

Knitting Needle: 4.00mm

The dress looks like this…

I’m not sure if I will follow the dress accordingly yet. I’m not a big fan of long sleeves, so maybe I will not knit the sleeves.

A Knit Top for Work

I shop a lot in Bangkok, but I haven’t bought any knit wear. I can just knit one for myself huh? LOL!

I’ve knitted 9 inches of the front part of the top in Gedifra Oasis cotton yarn, and I might need a few more weeks to complete it.

Other than these 2 projects, I have to knit for my kids and hubby too. So, my knitting passion continues without fail in Bangkok. :)

A White Dress for My Gal

Posted on August 21, 2008 - Filed Under Dress, Knit

I have totally forgotten to write about this project, until the day of complexion! It’s going to be a new dress for my gal for the next Chinese New Year. I know, it’s still very early for CNY, but judging from my busy days here, it’s best for me to knit it as early as possible.

It looks very plain in white Victoria cotton yarn huh? Thus, the lady from the knitting shop will do some embroidery on the dress with all my colorful loose yarns. I can’t wait to see the end result too. This dress will be at the shop until I fly back to Ipoh next time. So, it’s going to take a while before the next update.

The Multi Color Tee…

There you go…

Nice or not? LOL!

My Boy’s Multi Color Tee is Done

Posted on August 11, 2008 - Filed Under Knit, Tee

I completed this project last Saturday, and handed it to the knitting shop for joining up. I don’t join up most of my projects now because I have too many pending projects on hand, and the knitting shop is willing to help me out. The more projects I have, the more yarns I buy, so now you know why they are willing to help? LOL!

This multi color tee in Schachenmayr Nomatta Fiesta is oversized for my boy now, so I might just keep it away until his birthday or Chinese New Year. He has a lot of knit wears now, so he won’t mind me “hiding” one away. :)

Frankly, I have lots of fun knitting this tee. It’s moreĀ  challenging than most of my knitting projects, and I have to glue my eyes on the knitting pattern all the time. I think my concentration improves a lot after completing this tee. LOL!

Crochet Baby Booties

Posted on August 11, 2008 - Filed Under Crochet, Booties

I crocheted a pair of baby booties for my blogger friend on Saturday. It only took me a few hours to complete it, and furthermore, my friend at the knitting shop helped me to “touch up” the booties and hide the loose yarns away. So, it’s one of the fastest projects I did.

I got the crochet diagram from a book and it’s pretty simple to follow the crochet pattern. That’s why I’ve always preferred knitting and crochet books from Japan, they are way much simpler than the English version.

Since I don’t know if she’s expecting a girl or boy, I chose the green cotton yarn by Victoria. I’m not sure if she will like the color, but the booties are completed now. :P

Crochet A Hat

Posted on July 17, 2008 - Filed Under Crochet, Hat

I’ve almost forgotten about this knit hat until I looked through my photo collections just now. I crocheted this hat for my mother some time ago and it only took me less than a week to complete it. It’s pretty easy as you can refer to the crochet diagram I posted 2 months ago.

It’s a bit too plain, but that’s what my mother requested. Just add some crochet flowers or ribbons onto your hat if you wish.

My Boy’s Multi Patterns Tee

Posted on June 28, 2008 - Filed Under Knit, Tee

Here’s the progress of the tee I’m working on…

I’ve been pretty busy lately, so I only managed to complete the back of the tee and knitted 10 inches for the front part. I guess I can start knitting the armhole this weekend if I’m not out of yarns. I don’t have enough green yarn for this tee, so I might need to postpone this project until I buy the yarn from the shop in Ipoh later. I don’t think I can get it here in Bangkok.

Maybe I will skip to knitting the sleeves first? That should keep me occupied with this project for a while…

My Girl’s Top in Rich More Topping Sweet Yarn

Posted on June 9, 2008 - Filed Under Knit, Top

That’s my girl, and she’s easily recognized with her sun shiny smile. :) She’s wearing her new knit top in Rich More Topping Sweet Yarn and a plain white yarn from Plum Brand. She likes it a lot, and she looks cute pairing the top with a pair of pink tights.

Her brother didn’t wear any knit wear that day as his latest knit tee is still under progress…

Let’s see if I can finish by next month…

My Girl’s Cape in Zara Yarn

Posted on June 5, 2008 - Filed Under Crochet, Cape

Since we are staying in Bangkok soon, there’s a possibility of traveling to northern Thailand which is colder by the end of the year. I hope that we can make a trip to Chiang Mai and Nan (a place near Yunnan) this year, so I knitted a cape in Zara wool yarn for my little gal. For every 3 rows of the crochet pattern, I added a row of chain in Lily yarn. I have a lot of leftover yarns, so it’s best to make good use of them.

She doesn’t like it at first and refused to try it on. At that moment, I thought all my effort was wasted. But then, the lady from the knitting shop helped me to crochet these cute characters of Hello Kitty and Melody and they certainly beautify the cape. :)

Here’s the end result…

I think my girl will look really cute in it, if she’s willing to put it on!
